Brings back memories from a long time ago. Strong Persuader is still such a fantastic album. Brilliant tune. Timeless. Can you tell that I really do like it?

Thanks for the confirmation. I don’t play guitar, but I was enough of a Clapton fan to recognize the “Let It Rain” riff in Cray’s “Smoking Gun” when it started getting heavy airplay on Portland’s KINK radio.

Yeah, I’m a white 20 year old kid in the boondocks of Idaho and I listen to him…for a blues guitarist to reach the likes, they have to have a lot of attention…

Don Smith just recorded Robert Cray’s new album in the last three weeks. Watch for it to hit the shelves and for tour dates, I’ve heard it and it’s awesome!

Robert Cray was a fixture in Portland’s club scene in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Always one of Clapton’s favorites. The guitar riff in this one still reminds me of the signature riff in “Let It Rain.”

I like this man’s music. It’s too bad that the record companies don’t push MUSIC like this out there to be heard.
